Vogue Paris cited Ellis as “one of the most influential make-up artists of her time”. And indeed, she has worked with the world’s best fashion designers, photographers, stylists, hairdressers and models. Her work has been published on the covers of the world’s biggest fashion magazines. Additionally, Ellis has worked for brands such as Clinique, Lancôme and MAC Cosmetics and created a make-up line for L’Oréal’s skin care brand Biotherm.
In 1999 Ellis was discovered by the famous photographer Mario Testino. Soon Ellis was traveling with him to Paris, London, New York and LA. Things snowballed even further when Ellis met French fashion editor Emmanuelle Alt, who introduced her to Karl Lagerfeld. All of a sudden, Ellis was managing an army of makeup artists on how to apply the make-up she had designed for Lagerfeld’s shows for Fendi and Chanel.
She launched her own line: ELLIS FAAS Cosmetics, in 2009. By today, it grew to a successful and recognised brand with a unique concept : portability, products are liquid and the shades are based on colours that by nature exist in the human body. Therefore they suit everyone, regardless of skin tone, age or style.
Ellis Faas Cosmetics is available in 25 markets, with a loyal consumer and celebrity base, an own devoted ‘make-up ambassador’ network and presence in many of the world’s most prestigious retailers.
